History Behind the Day

It commemorates the first Rotary Club meeting in Chicago on February 23, 1905, where Paul P. Harris and three business colleagues gathered to foster fellowship away from political or religious concerns. Their model inspired the growth of Rotary International and a century-long legacy of humanitarian service.
